Burnley manager Nicky Hayen should be on the brink, and defeat at Lincoln could be the one that nudges him over the edge

There comes a point when asking fans for more and more patience becomes asking them to ingnore the evidence that's infront of them. Burnley manager Nicky Hayen is surely very close to that point now. Defeat at Lincoln has to be the final nail in the coffin.

Burnley head to Sincil Bank this weekend to face Lincoln City with the players, manager and owners already facing uncomfortable questions. One win from their opening 11 Championship games and a place in the bottom three amount to a deeply disappointing start.

After the 2–1 home defeat to Wolves, fan frustration was evident in the stands as one supporter unfurled a ‘Pace Out’ flag to express his disapproval of the hierarchy, and it is not the first anti-Pace message displayed at full-time this season. While much of the anger has been directed at owner Alan Pace, another defeat would make the case for a change of manager harder to resist.
