A terrible sense of Déjà vu begs the question whether sacking Nicky Hayen will truly make a difference

Déjà vu can be a wonderful thing at times, especially as us Burnley fans have had so many great memories down the years.

But déjà vu in the modern era of this football club tends to just bring back old memories of a negative kind and that was on full display yesterday when it was reported that two managers have turned down the chance to become the new head coach.

It feels like the summer all over again, where a raft of rejections left us some way down the pecking order when appointing a manager. Enter Nicky Hayen. How did that work out?

Sacking a manager in Hayen’s circumstances is perfectly acceptable, but given the timing of it in the middle of the season, there has to be a contingency plan in place ready to go almost instantly.
